What is a Resilinator?
It’s a kid who knows how to roll with the punches in life. A kid who keeps functioning when adversity strikes. A kid who faces setbacks and refuses to quit.
What’s the Resilinator?
It's a great chance for you and your kids to celebrate the resilience you've built over the past year on our epic 2.5 mile adventure course filled with obstacles and unique challenges. It's a 2.5 mile adventure race on nature trails around Hyland Lake. The course is designed to test your physical strength, toughness, and teamwork as buddy pairs.
What is the age breakdown for buddy pairs?
Kids ages 5-7 may race but need to be paired with an adult buddy. Kids ages 8-18 may buddy-up with kids in the same age group or with an adult buddy. Adult buddies should have moderate fitness level, as the Resilinator is designed to be challenging. ALL racers must be registered and should select the same start session as their buddy.

At the Resilinator, buddies are connected by a tether that you will be given at the start line. Your objective is to complete the entire Resilinator course without either buddy ever letting go of your tether and breaking your connection.

  • Two Siblings

A WINTER ADVENTURE RACE FOR ALL KIDS AGES 7-17
The Kidarod is inspired by Alaska's famous dog sled race, except with kids doing the work and husky sled teams watching the fun. It combines climbing, pulling, sliding, hiking/running, and fun obstacles into an unforgettable 2-mile winter adventure.

Iditarod History: When diphtheria gripped the village of Nome during the brutal winter of 1925, there was only one hope to save the townspeople. It was to have teams of huskies and their mushers relay the life-saving serum from Anchorage hundreds of miles to Nome. The nation held its breath waiting for progress reports of the slow and nearly impossible trek across the dark and dangerous tundra. But thanks to Togo, a lead dog who pulled the serum 260 miles over 3 days, and Balto the dog who led his team on the final pull into Nome, the town was saved.

Reenacting the original "Race of Mercy": We refer to our startline at the Kidarod as "Anchorage" and our finish line as "Nome". At the start line, you will collect your vile of symbolic serum and protect it along the course until you turn it in at "Nome".

Kidarod Details:

Kids Ages 7-17: Racing solo, or with other registered kid(s) and/or adults

Expected time to Complete Course
Runners: 20 to 30 Minutes

Weather Possibilities: We have held the Kidarod during all kinds of weather conditions from a huge blizzard to very cold and even in balmy 60 degree temps. So be ready for any kind of conditions that February in Minnesota can throw at us.

What to Wear: Be advised that heavy winter jackets and snow pants often become "too warm" for the trek. It's best to dress in layers for winter conditions. Also, wear gloves, shoes with good traction (or boots if snow is deep), and the Kidarod knit hat you'll receive at check-in.

Race Week Email: All registrants will receive an email on race week with updated information and a reminder of your session time.

EXPERIENCE THE GLORY OF MOUNT EVEREST WITHOUT LEAVING THE TWIN CITIES
WHAT'S YOUR EVEREST? FIND OUT AT FOREVEREST
ForEverest is a chance for you to get a taste of what it's like to climb Mt. Everest - the world's highest mountain - with our special course at Hyland Hills Ski Area. Everest-like features along the way will make your journey to the summit more fun and memorable.
CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE
ForEverest is for anyone who wants to climb to new heights in a fun and supportive adventure (open to ages 6 and up). Whether you've never done anything like this before, are an experienced hiker, ultra-runner, cross-training athlete, or are looking to challenge yourself with something new, we've got you covered with SINGLE or MULTI-SESSION options.

SINGLE SESSION OPTION:
Ready to experience a mini version of what it's like to climb the world's tallest mountain? Sign up to climb as little or as much as you desire during your session. The single session is the best option for most hikers to enjoy a great workout and become inspired for even bigger goals in life.

MULTI-SESSION OPTION:
Choose if you want to go for the ultimate climb - the full 12,000 feet needed to climb from Base Camp to the Summit of the world's tallest mountain. By choosing this option, you are free to hike or run during any or all sessions spread out over 3 days to reach the pinnacle 12,000’ milestone and get enshrined into the ForEverest Summit Club. There will be special scoring and recognition for all who make it.

This is the perfect option for warrior athletes, those training for a major hike, long distance to ultra runners, high school and collegiate athletes wanting to kick-off a great summer of training, and everyday athletes motivated to achieve one of the rarest of feats. Go for it at ForEverest!
HOW IT WORKS
All participants check-in at ForEverest Base Camp. When ready to start your adventure, you'll climb the circuit (4 hills = 525 vertical feet). At the completion of the circuit, you may go to the Summit to complete your journey or decide to start another circuit to earn more vertical feet. Your choice! You’ll track your total vertical feet to see how much of Everest you climbed, and be recognized for each circuit and milestones achieved!

Glossary and Knowledge of ForEverest:

  • Base Camp: staging for everything from check-in to start, to resting between circuits, and final completion and award recognition
  • Circuit: The 4-hill ForEverest loop course that includes 525 total feet of climbing. At the end of the circuit is the passport stamping and refueling station, plus the fork in the road to decide on starting another circuit or heading to the final summit climb
  • Milestones: bonus recognition for circuits completed - starting at 2 circuits with more along the way
  • Summit Climb: completed only once; it is the final hill of your ForEverest journey, after you’ve completed your circuit(s). Epic photo opportunity with the Minneapolis skyline
  • Summit descent to Base Camp: it's all downhill from the Summit, back to Base Camp where you'll show your passport to earn your finisher's award and celebrate your achievement
  • Finishers Award: Hand-crafted artisan medal finished off with the beads earned for the total circuits and milestones you climbed
  • Session: a selected 4-hour window of time for you to climb as little or as much as you desire. You are welcome to start anytime during your session and complete your climb by the stated end time
